Project Comfort & Joy Has Begun!

At High Tech Elementary School, we are dedicated to helping each other. We understand that one of the strengths of our school is its rich diversity of community, with our students coming from many different backgrounds and situations.

Project Comfort & Joy is a way that our school provides extra support through the holiday season for some of our own HTES families. We are collecting donations over the next 2 weeks that will be used to provide necessities to help the families, in our own community, who could use some extra support as the weather turns colder and the long school break is upon us.

Starting Monday December 5:

Choose a gift request on a gift tag, from the display outside the front office or on select days you can pick one up from volunteers during outside drop-off/pickup.

Purchase, wrap and return gifts to the front office no later than Friday, December 16.

Please make sure to include the original gift tag, so we know who the gift is for. It’s that easy!

Last year, we were able to provide gifts for twenty-five children from eight of our own High Tech families as well as providing $100 for food during the holiday break.

Thank you for your support!

Please contact the PTA with any questions at community@hightechpta.com.

Thanksgiving Food Drive

It’s the time of year again where we take a moment to pause and give thanks for the many wonderful things we have in our lives. It is also a time to share with others who have less. For the second year, High Tech Elementary PTA is proud to partner with Growing Home, a local non-profit that supports North Denver area children and families who are in need.

Last year, High Tech Elementary was able to donate 15 complete baskets, 25 boxes of food and over $500 in gift cards.  Growing Home is hoping to put together a total of 300 baskets this Thanksgiving.  We can easily make this goal by working together as a community.

Below is a list of requested items, broken down by classroom teacher. Please find your childs teacher, and bring the set of listed items to their classroom anytime between Tuesday, November 1st and Thursday, November 17th. PTA volunteers will deliver our our items on Friday, November 18th.

Classrooms that reach 100% participation will be rewarded with a special prize for the children – a pajama day! So bring over and above the number of items assigned in order to ensure success!

We are also collecting gift cards for King Soopers and Walmart in denominations of $10 and $15 in order to cover the cost of a turkey for each family. We are looking to collect 60 of these cards in order to make our Thanksgiving Baskets complete! Please consider making this donation. All gift cards can be turned in to the Thanksgiving Turkey located in the front office.

Thank you in advance for your generosity. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

If you have any questions, please contact Alexis Clendenin, PTA community chair, at  community@hightechpta.com.
