Tailgate In The Park: Sunday Oct 2nd 1:00pm-6:30pm

YES! The PTA is hosting a Broncos tailgate. Please join us at the park space located at Uinta St and Stoll Pl in Conservatory Green on Sunday, October 2nd at 1pm. Enjoy food, drinks and watch the game on a big screen. This is an adult-only event.

Child care for children ages 3 and up will be provided at the school, just across the street. Our host families and Direct Giving chairs are working out a fun day of activities so the kids can have their own tailgate experience while being taken care of by experienced sitters. Child care is $15 per child.

A very special thank you to Jim N Nicks for their generous donation of BBQ for our event!

This will be our last Direct Giving party of the year, so let’s wrap up High Tech’s fall giving season in a BIG way.

Tailgate In The Park: Sunday Oct 2nd 1pm – 6:30pm

  • Location: In the Park at Uinta and Stoll
  • Hosts: Conner, Cordova, Kinder, Sciarra, Villines and Smith Families

Letter from the PTA President

GOODBYE SUMMER…HELLO SCHOOL!

Your High Tech Elementary PTA wishes to welcome new and returning families back for the 2016-17 school year! Our mission is to make every student’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and our community. We have many exciting community events and programs planned, including the Welcome Back Picnic (8/19, 6-8pm), the Fall Festival (10/23, 4-6pm), Safety & Security Week and Nutrition Week. The PTA also runs the Room Parent Program, Uniform Recycling and programs to support our families in need. We hope that you will attend as many community events as possible and consider volunteering to support them as well!

Additionally, the PTA has fundraising events planned throughout the year in order to fill the gap between what DPS provides and what we want for our children. This year, the PTA will partner with Dr. Gile to grow the creative arts specials and enrichment program at High Tech. Specifically, we will be fundraising to bring a robust string instrument program to the school, purchase professional grade art materials, develop a drama program, develop a robotics program and to bring back Avid4Adventure.

Our fundraising efforts kickoff with our Fall Direct Giving Campaign- Please consider supporting these great endeavors by attending one of the parties and giving generously. (Direct Giving Parties: Cup o’ Coffee on 9/9, Direct Giving Social on 9/17, Garden Party on 9/24, Tailgate in the Park on 10/2).

We would love to have your help with these programs and events. Please consider joining the PTA ($16.25 membership dues), attending our meetings, and helping out. Whether you wish to volunteer one time or more frequently, let us know. There are volunteer opportunities that can be fit to any schedule.

PTA General Meetings are scheduled the third Wednesday of each month starting September 21, 2016. These informative and engaging meetings are held at the school from 6:30pm to 8pm and childcare is provided. Please come join us!

Thanks and see you soon,

LETTER FROM PTA PRESIDENT

Letter from the PTA President

Dear Greater High Tech Community,

It is amazing how fast the year has gone by. It seems like only yesterday that we were at the Welcome Back Picnic recruiting you (we had more than 100 PTA volunteers this year) to help kick off the school year and now we only have a few weeks remaining until summer break. What an amazing year! We raised more than $120,000 in donations for our school, enjoyed wonderful community events throughout the year — bringing us all closer together — and celebrated the end of prohibition as only our parent’s could at the Flappers and Fellas Soiree and Auction ($60,000 raised) in April.

Additional PTA Highlights for the year include, but not limited to:
  • FOSS science curriculum and the 2016-17 Spanish teacher salary
  • Nutrition Week, Safety and Security Week, as well as the Parenting Safe Workshop
  • Four well attended Direct Giving Parties raising more than $45,000
  • Community events: Welcome Back Picnic, Fall Festival, Hall of Hearts, Hot Cocoa Bar…
  • Room Parent Program: planning parties, building auction baskets, organizing teacher appreciation week…
  • Funding the bounce house at the upcoming High Tech Field Days (5/17 for K-5 & 5/18 for ECE)
  • And many, many more…
We could not have done it without you!
A heartfelt thank you from everyone on the 2015-16 High Tech Elementary PTA Board: Brittany Miller (VP), Ann Masten (Treasurer), Becky Bicha (Secretary), Meagan Partilla (Fundraising), Mim Ochsenbein (Community), Jenna Conner (Membership) and Sarah Stabio (Communications).
To say thank you, we welcome you to our Annual Volunteer Appreciation Party next Wednesday, May 18 from 6:30-8:00PM (replacing our monthly PTA meeting) at one of the restaurants/bars in Northfield TBD. The first round of drinks will be on us!

Come celebrate our great year and catch up with friends!
